SmartCommerce vs StoreLocators: 2026 Pricing and Comparison

Shoppable media and commerce enablement platform, with a Product Locator inside it

SmartCommerce sells a commerce enablement platform for CPG brands, built around Click2Cart: one click from an ad, a recipe or a product page into a retailer’s cart. A Product Locator sits inside its SmartSite module, and that locator is the only part of the platform this page is about. StoreLocators is compared against every major where-to-buy platform on our hub.,

Last reviewed

The short answer

SmartCommerce is a shoppable media platform whose Product Locator is one module of several; StoreLocators is the locator on its own, with a published price and a public app listing. The difference that matters most on this page is how much each vendor tells you before you talk to sales.

What each product is designed to do, in its own terms. A capability named on one side is not a claim that the other lacks it, and neither column ranks the two: the table below is where they are compared row by row.

What SmartCommerce is built for

  • The problem is media: paid search, programmatic, social, influencer, CTV, DOOH, email, SMS and QR all need to end somewhere that converts
  • Add-to-cart at the retailer matters more than directions to a shop, especially for recipes, regimens, kits and other bundles
  • Out-of-stock exposure is costing you campaign performance and you want substitution handled by the routing layer
  • You are a beverage or alcohol brand needing product visibility suppressed by state, county or zip code
  • You would rather a managed service configured the products, retailers and links than run it in-house
  • Procurement wants an annual SOC 2 examination, SSO, a published uptime figure and a named account team

If two or more of these describe your team, you are buying a commerce platform rather than a store locator, and we would rather say so here than after another thousand words.

What StoreLocators is built for

  • The locator is the whole job, not one channel inside a paid-media programme
  • You need a price and a trial before a sales call rather than after one
  • You want to be live this week, from an app listing or a script tag
  • Independent stockists and distributor accounts need a way onto the map
  • You want to inspect the retailer coverage as a CSV before committing anything
  • Published contract terms matter: month to month, no termination fee, cancel yourself

StoreLocators and SmartCommerce, side by side

Both store locators as a shopper sees them, captured the same way: a 1280 by 800 browser window placed in Chicago, searching for Chicago. A demo holds whatever sample data its vendor chose, so where that changes what the picture shows, the caption says so. Each shot is trimmed to a common shape here; select one to see all of it.

StoreLocatorsCaptured October 15, 2026 from a live customer site, searching “Chicago, IL”.
SmartCommerceCaptured October 15, 2026 from the vendor’s own demo, searching “Chicago, IL”.

Pricing, and what each vendor publishes

This section is short because one side of it is empty. SmartCommerce publishes no price anywhere on its site. There is no pricing entry in the navigation, /pricing returns their own 404 page, no tier or package is named on any product page, and every call to action is "Schedule a demo". The only commercial terms published are that its pricing is flat and unlimited, with no added fees for more campaigns, products, retailers, users or support, and that every MCP Analytics subscription includes unlimited logins and unlimited support.,,

That is a legitimate way to sell an enterprise platform and this page is not treating it as a failing. It does mean a buyer cannot size the spend before a sales conversation, and it means nobody outside SmartCommerce can say what a Product Locator costs, including us. We are not going to estimate it.

Ours are on a third-party listing you can read without talking to anyone, and our terms are published in full: month to month, no termination fee, cancel in Account Settings, refund within 30 days of the latest charge. The terms SmartCommerce publishes are website terms of service last updated in April 2024, which contain no term, notice period or cancellation provision because they are not a subscription agreement.,,

  • No pricing page, plan list or package name anywhere on the site
  • Pricing is described as flat and unlimited, with no added fees for more campaigns, products, retailers, users or support
  • Every MCP Analytics subscription includes unlimited logins and unlimited support
  • Cloud AI Managed Commerce Service is offered, but whether it is included or priced separately is not stated
  • Contract length, minimum term, notice period and cancellation terms are not published

Free trial not documented either way. Not published. A public demo at demo.smartcommerce.com shows SmartLink, carousels, buttons and Product Locator running live without a sales call, but a demo page is not a trial of the platform and the two are not equated here.

Sixteen rows, all checked against SmartCommerce’s own pages and the Shopify App Store. Eight of their cells say "not published" or "unverified", which is not padding: SmartCommerce publishes no price, no plan, no contract term and no launch timeline anywhere on its site, and sells through no app store that would carry a merchant rating. We would rather show that than fill the column in.,

SmartCommerce in its own words

“Any Channel. Any Retailer. Any SKU. One click to discover or cart.”

SmartCommerce, about page

“Show shoppers where to buy your products, in-store and online.”

SmartCommerce, on Product Locator

“SmartSite uses real-time inventory technology across retailers and store locations to help surface relevant, in-stock options online and in-store.”

SmartCommerce, on SmartSite

“Add a few lines of code to your CMS, and your brand website can support dynamic retailer paths across product detail pages, content, recipes, and campaign experiences.”

SmartCommerce, on brand website commerce

Read the platform page rather than the homepage and the shape of the company is clear. SmartCommerce sells four things: SmartLink, which makes media shoppable; SmartSite, which commerce-enables a brand website with carousels, SmartButtons and the Product Locator; MCP Analytics for reporting; and a Cloud AI Managed Commerce Service that runs campaign setup for you. The locator is one deployment shape inside one of those four, and almost everything else on this page follows from that.,

The company is not new to where-to-buy. Its about page traces its roots to the pioneering days of that technology, its 2022 press releases say it brings together former leaders of Channel Intelligence, which Google acquired in 2013, and that it is backed by the New York growth equity firm Argentum. It acquired Myxx in October 2022 for recipe commerce and Basketful a week later for contextual commerce and category insights. It is headquartered at 75 5th Street NW in Atlanta, and Gregory Taylor is listed as chief executive with founder Jennifer Silverberg on the board.,,

One thing to know before reading any comparison of these platforms, this one included: Pear Commerce runs a page titled "Pear Commerce is the SmartCommerce competitor to beat", and every vendor in this category writes about every other. That is why each SmartCommerce fact below carries the URL it came from and the date we opened it, and why no claim from a rival’s page about SmartCommerce is repeated here.

Where StoreLocators is different

You can find out what it costs

Our plans are on the Shopify App Store at $195, $395 and $995 a month with a free trial on each. SmartCommerce publishes no price, no plan and no tier anywhere: there is no pricing page, /pricing returns their own 404, and every button is a demo request. Neither approach is wrong, but only one of them lets you budget this week.,

Contract terms published in full

Month to month, no long-term contract, no termination fee, cancel from Account Settings, refund available within 30 days of the latest charge. The terms SmartCommerce publishes govern use of its website rather than a customer subscription, so its term length, notice period and cancellation terms are not public.,

Independents can add themselves

Small stockists rarely appear in any retailer feed, ours included, so our Submit Your Location block lets a shop add itself for approval. No dealer or stockist self-submission is documented anywhere on SmartCommerce’s public site, which is a gap in what they publish rather than a proven gap in the product.

Coverage you can inspect before you buy

Our store lists publish 110,516 locations across 205 retailers as free CSV downloads with addresses, phone numbers, hours and coordinates. SmartCommerce publishes a 1,200+ partner count and no list, so there is no way from outside to see which of those partners carry in-store availability rather than an online cart link.,

The locator is the product, not a module

Product Locator is one of three SmartSite deployment shapes, inside one of four SmartCommerce products. Here the locator, the availability badges, the wholesale portal and the retail analytics are the whole thing, so nothing on the roadmap competes with it for attention or for a tier allowance.,

Live in an afternoon, without an account team

Install the app on Shopify or drop a script and one div on any other site, and discovery runs against your catalogue. SmartCommerce’s published route is a code integration into your CMS plus a managed service that configures products, retailers and links for you. That suits a team that wants the work done for them, and does not suit a team that wants it done today.,

Every row where the table above separates us

Taken from that table rather than written out again, so the two cannot disagree. A row shows up here when we publish an answer and they publish none, or when both answer and ours covers more of the feature. Rows where both sides publish a figure, a price or a rating, stay out: those differ by their content.

What SmartCommerce’s Product Locator actually is

SmartSite is SmartCommerce’s website product, and it ships in three shapes. Carousels and SmartButtons bring retailer options onto a page. Direct-to-Consumer supports a brand’s own store alongside retailers. Product Locator is the third: SmartCommerce describes it as showing shoppers where to buy in-store and online, pointing them toward relevant retailer and store options near them, including the brand’s own DTC site where applicable, with inventory-aware paths that reduce dead ends.,

That is a genuine where-to-buy locator and this page treats it as one. Two other capabilities sit under it and are worth knowing about: geo-aware routing, which SmartCommerce says accounts for location, language, currency, retailer availability and market rules, and retailer ranking, which lets a brand order retailers by business rules, availability, relevance, margin or campaign priority. The API documentation page confirms the underlying data includes local retailer and store availability resolved by zip code.,

What SmartCommerce does not publish about it is the operational detail a buyer usually asks for second: which mapping provider draws the map and who pays for it, how many locations a brand can put on one, how long it takes to launch, and what any of it costs. Those are the four cells in the table above that say nothing rather than guessing.

The numbers on both sides of this page

SmartCommerce publishes a lot of figures. $20B+ in value driven, 1B+ products added to retailer carts, 98%+ demand protected when availability shifts, a 1.2–2x lift in add-to-cart conversion through bundling, 3–5X more first-click engagement than standard Buy Now buttons, a 10X increase in carting volume, 27% of campaign clicks hitting a product that is out of stock, out-of-stock exposure falling to 0–2%, and 15–20% click-to-retail conversion on beverage and alcohol campaigns.,,,

None of them carries a published methodology, measurement window, sample or source. That does not make any of them untrue, and several are plausible on their face, but it does mean they are marketing claims rather than verified results, so this page attributes every one of them to SmartCommerce and restates none of them as fact. The one number treated differently is the 1,200+ retailer partner count, which is a description of their own network and is reported as their statement.

The same standard applies to us, and it is worth being explicit. Claims about StoreLocators come from our own public pages and are not separately cited. The two things a reader can independently check are our prices, which are on a third-party app store listing, and our coverage, which is downloadable as CSV. Judge both vendors on what is checkable.,

What a SmartCommerce alternative does not replace

This is the section worth reading before you price a switch. SmartCommerce sells four products on one commerce backbone: SmartLink for media, SmartSite for the website, MCP Analytics for reporting, and a managed service that runs the configuration. Product Locator is one deployment shape inside SmartSite. A store locator replaces that, and nothing else.,

So work out which jobs you actually buy from them. If SmartCommerce is also carrying your shoppable ads, your Click2Cart bundles, your out-of-stock substitution, your campaign measurement or your alcohol geo-restrictions, moving the locator alone leaves those open, and this page is not going to suggest otherwise. If the locator is the whole reason you are paying them, the calculation is much simpler.,,

What neither of us publishes

A comparison page is more useful when it admits its own gaps. SmartCommerce does not publish pricing, plan structure, caps, contract terms, a launch timeline, a retailer list, a refresh interval, a support response target, headcount, founding year or a current customer count. Its case-study results sit behind a download form, and its security overview names SOC 2 Type I rather than Type II.,,,

We publish prices, contract terms and a downloadable retailer list, and we do not publish an uptime figure, a SOC 2 report, a support response target or a data-freshness audit. On the security paperwork an enterprise procurement team asks for, SmartCommerce is ahead of us and it would be dishonest to bury that.,

No star rating for SmartCommerce appears anywhere on this page, and that is the outcome of checking rather than an omission. It sells no app through the Shopify App Store, which is where the merchant ratings on our long-tail comparisons come from: a search there on 11 September 2026 for the company name and for Click2Cart returned only unrelated apps from other developers. We did not verify a G2, Capterra or Trustpilot profile for them either, and an unverified rating is worse than none. Nothing here should be read as a statement about their customer satisfaction in either direction.

Moving from SmartCommerce to StoreLocators

Moving the locator is the easy half. The hard half is separating it from everything else SmartCommerce may be doing for you, because Product Locator is one module of a platform and the invoice will not itemise it the way this page does.

Do that separation first. If SmartLink, Click2Cart bundles, SmartSubstitution, MCP Analytics or the alcohol geo-restrictions are load-bearing for your programme, a store locator replaces none of them and this section will not pretend it does.,,

  1. List what you actually useWrite down which SmartCommerce products are live: SmartLink placements, SmartSite carousels or buttons, Product Locator, MCP Analytics, the managed service. Anything past the locator needs its own answer before you move anything. An hour, with the contract and the invoice open
  2. Export what you can while you still have accessPull your MCP Analytics reporting, your product-to-retailer mapping and any historical campaign performance you want to keep. SmartCommerce publishes no data-export or post-termination retention policy, so assume nothing survives the account closing. An afternoon
  3. Install alongside, not insteadPut StoreLocators on a staging theme or a single product page and let retailer discovery run while SmartCommerce is still live. That way you are comparing real coverage on your own catalogue rather than two vendors’ claims about it.Under 5 minutes to install
  4. Compare coverage on the retailers you actually sell throughSmartCommerce states a much larger partner network than we integrate, so run this honestly rather than hopefully. Check your real distribution list against what discovery found, request anything missing, and bring independents in through the wholesale portal.Days, not weeks
  5. Swap the embeds and keep the URLsReplace the SmartSite code in your CMS with our section or script, and leave the where-to-buy page URL exactly as it is so nothing you have earned in search moves. An hour
  6. Read your own agreement before you give noticeSmartCommerce publishes no contract terms, so the only place your renewal date, notice period and any minimum commitment exist is your own signed agreement. Find them before you cancel anything.Depends on your agreement

Frequently asked questions

What is SmartCommerce and what does it actually sell?

SmartCommerce is an Atlanta-based commerce enablement platform for CPG brands, built around its Click2Cart technology, which lets a shopper add one or many products into a retailer’s cart in a single click from an ad, a social post, an email, a QR code or a web page. It sells four things: SmartLink for shoppable media, SmartSite for commerce-enabling a brand website, MCP Analytics for reporting, and a Cloud AI Managed Commerce Service. Its store locator, called Product Locator, is one deployment shape inside SmartSite.,,

Does SmartCommerce have a store locator or where-to-buy tool?

Yes. It is called Product Locator and it is part of the SmartSite module. SmartCommerce describes it as showing shoppers where to buy in-store and online, pointing them toward relevant retailer and store options near them, including a brand’s own direct-to-consumer site where applicable, with inventory-aware paths. SmartCommerce says SmartSite uses real-time inventory technology across retailers and store locations to surface in-stock options both online and in-store.,

How much does SmartCommerce cost?

SmartCommerce does not publish pricing, so we cannot answer this for them and will not guess. There is no pricing entry in the site navigation, the /pricing URL returns their own 404 page, no product page names a tier or a package, and every call to action is a demo request. The only commercial terms published are a line describing flat, unlimited pricing with no added fees for more campaigns, products, retailers, users or support, and that every MCP Analytics subscription includes unlimited logins and unlimited support. Ask them directly and get the term length and notice period in writing at the same time.,,

How many retailers does SmartCommerce cover?

SmartCommerce states 1,200+ retailer partners across categories and regions, described as major national retailers, regional banners, marketplace environments, delivery partners and category-specific destinations. Its October 2022 press releases described a network of over 1,000 retailers globally. No retailer list is published, so there is no public way to check which of those partners carry store-level in-store availability against an online cart link only.,

Is there a SmartCommerce free trial or a Shopify app?

Neither is published. SmartCommerce runs a public demo at demo.smartcommerce.com where the Product Locator, carousels, buttons and Click2Cart links can be clicked without a sales call, but that is a demonstration rather than a trial of the platform. Its own portal, SmartSuite, sits behind a client login, and no Shopify App Store listing appears anywhere on its site. We also searched the App Store itself on 11 September 2026, by company name and by the Click2Cart product name, and found no SmartCommerce listing, only unrelated apps from other developers that happen to share those words. That is a well-supported absence rather than an exhaustive one, and nothing here should be read as a statement that no self-serve route exists.,,,

How does SmartCommerce handle out-of-stock products?

With a feature it calls SmartSubstitution, which routes a shopper to an in-stock size, pack or similar product from the same brand when the promoted item is unavailable. SmartCommerce says 27% of campaign clicks typically hit a product that is out of stock at the retailer, and that this exposure falls to 0–2% once SmartSubstitution is on. Both are its own figures with no published methodology, so treat them as vendor claims. StoreLocators has no substitution feature.,

What is the best SmartCommerce alternative?

It depends which part of SmartCommerce you are replacing. If you use Product Locator and want a where-to-buy map on its own, StoreLocators installs from the Shopify App Store, covers 205 retailers across 110,516 locations, publishes its prices and its contract terms, and lets independent stockists add themselves. If you also rely on Click2Cart, shoppable media, SmartSubstitution or campaign measurement, no store locator replaces those, and Pear Commerce and MikMak are the closer comparisons.,,

Is SmartCommerce SOC 2 certified?

SmartCommerce states it undergoes an annual SOC 2 Type I examination against the AICPA Trust Services Principles for security, availability and confidentiality. Type I assesses the design of controls at a point in time rather than their operating effectiveness over a period, which is what Type II covers, and SmartCommerce publishes Type I. Its security overview also states multi-factor authentication through SAML SSO, encryption at rest and in transit, AWS hosting in US-West-2 and EU-West-1, and 99.99% uptime for consumer-facing services.

Last reviewed

Every SmartCommerce claim on this page was taken from smartcommerce.com, its own demo subdomain, or a press release it publishes itself, and each URL was last opened and checked on 15 October 2026. Identity and category were confirmed against the vendor’s own site before anything was written: no third-party microsite, directory entry or rival’s comparison page was treated as vendor documentation, and the one competitor page cited is labelled as exactly that.,,

SmartCommerce’s performance figures were handled as a separate category. The $20B+, 1B+, 98%+, 1.2–2x, 3–5X, 10X, 27%, 0–2%, 15–20% and 49% claims carry no published methodology, measurement window or source, so each appears attributed to SmartCommerce or not at all, and none is restated here as neutral fact.,,

Where SmartCommerce publishes nothing, this page says so rather than estimating. That applies to pricing, plan structure, location and SKU caps, contract length and notice period, launch timelines, the retailer list, refresh intervals, support response targets, data export and retention, founding year, headcount and customer count. Three further cells are marked unverified rather than absent (the mapping provider behind Product Locator, the process for adding a retailer, and whether any dealer self-submission exists) because those are limits on our checking, not statements about their product. No star rating for SmartCommerce is published here: it has no Shopify App Store listing, searched for by company name and by product name on 11 September 2026, and no third-party rating was verified.,,

Claims about StoreLocators come from our own public pages and are not separately cited. The two that a reader can check independently, our published prices on a third-party app store listing and our retailer coverage as downloadable CSV files, are cited like everything else.,
