Destini Store Locator vs StoreLocators: 2026 Pricing

Where-to-buy and commerce enablement platform for grocery CPG brands

Destini is the incumbent where-to-buy platform for grocery CPG, built on syndicated retail data rather than on store lists a brand uploads. Brands look for a Destini alternative for one of three reasons: they do not buy syndicated data, they sell outside grocery, or they need a locator live before a sales cycle finishes. StoreLocators is compared against every major where-to-buy platform on our hub.,

Last reviewed

The short answer

Destini sells syndicated retail intelligence with a locator on top. StoreLocators sells a locator that installs in minutes, keeps itself current from retailer-reported data, and runs month to month.

What each product is designed to do, in its own terms. A capability named on one side is not a claim that the other lacks it, and neither column ranks the two: the table below is where they are compared row by row.

What Destini is built for

  • You already subscribe to NielsenIQ, IRI or SPINS data and want the locator fed by it automatically.
  • Your distribution runs through natural and specialty grocery, where Destini’s channel data is at its strongest.
  • You want locator results based on actual store-level sales rather than on distribution alone.
  • You want where-to-buy, shoppable pages, coupons and UPC-level retail analytics bought as one bundle from a single vendor, rather than a locator alongside the tools you already run.
  • Procurement requires third-party ADA certification alongside GDPR and CCPA compliance.

If two or more of these describe your team, a focused store locator is not what you are shopping for, and we would rather say so here than after 1,500 words.

What StoreLocators is built for

  • You do not buy syndicated retail data from NielsenIQ, IRI or SPINS, and do not want to buy it to make a locator work.
  • You launch products often and cannot wait six to eight weeks for them to appear.
  • Independents, regional chains and new doors are a real part of your distribution.
  • You need it live this week, on Shopify or any other site, without developer time.
  • Month-to-month terms matter more than a suite of adjacent products.

StoreLocators and Destini, side by side

Both store locators as a shopper sees them, captured the same way: a 1280 by 800 browser window placed in Chicago, searching for Chicago. A demo holds whatever sample data its vendor chose, so where that changes what the picture shows, the caption says so. Each shot is trimmed to a common shape here; select one to see all of it.

StoreLocatorsCaptured October 15, 2026 from a live customer site, searching “Chicago, IL”.
DestiniCaptured October 6, 2026 from a customer the vendor names publicly, searching “60601”.

Pricing, and what each vendor publishes

Our prices are public: $195, $395 and $995 a month on our Shopify App Store listing, each with a 14-day free trial. Destini publishes no price. No figure appears anywhere on destini.co: every commercial call to action is Schedule Demo, Get A Quote or Request Pricing, and even the entry-level Omnicommerce Starter Bundle carries no numbers.,

A few sourced signals exist about how Destini prices, none with a dollar figure. Its demo form bands prospects by store count: up to 1,000, 1,001 to 5,000, 5,001 to 15,000, and 15,000+. Its UK page advertises flat-rate pricing for unlimited UPCs and refers to an annual cost, and its published standard terms, dated January 2019, invoice half the first year’s fees when the order is signed and the rest 45 days after its start date, with annual fees on each anniversary after that, unless the signed order says otherwise. Canadian data is an add-on, priced on request.,,

Capterra lists a starting price of $4,950 for Destini. It is included only because buyers find it and ask. It is directory metadata rather than a vendor statement, the unit is labelled inconsistently, and it rests on zero reviews. Do not treat it as Destini pricing.

Destini publishes no price. Capterra, a third-party directory, lists a starting price of $4,950 with an inconsistent unit label and zero reviews. That is not the same figure as the $1,100–$2,100 a month in the table below, which is the range paid by brands that have used Destini and is not published anywhere.

  • Quote-only, with prospects segmented by store count
  • Published standard terms (January 2019): half the first year’s fees invoiced at signing, the rest 45 days after the start date, then annually; a signed order can differ
  • Published standard terms (January 2019): no termination for convenience, and fees non-refundable unless the agreement provides otherwise; a signed order can differ
  • UK page advertises flat-rate pricing for unlimited UPCs
  • Canadian data offered as an add-on, priced on request

Free trial not documented either way. Destini makes no statement either way. Capterra records no free trial and no free version, which is a directory field rather than a vendor commitment.

Those five figures are $1,083, $1,583, $1,800, $2,000 and $2,060 a month, so the sample is five and the spread is nearly twofold. One of those brands noted their figure excluded two add-ons billed separately. A sixth brand paid $7,000 a month on a combined bill, which is not comparable per brand and is not in the range. What Destini is, in their own words

“Trusted by 1,500+ brands, Destini has been the #1 Where-to-Buy platform for the Food & Beverage industry since our founding in 2010.”

Destini

“No other company can combine web-scraped product data with store-level sales data to display search results based on actual sales across your distribution footprint.”

Destini

“Destini is the only Where-to-Buy solution that can integrate with SPINS data to display search results for exclusive retailers in the Natural Channel.”

SPINS

Those three sentences are the product. Destini is not selling a map widget, it is selling a commerce layer on top of syndicated retail data, with the locator as its consumer-facing surface. Around it sit Shoppable Landing Pages, Signals retail analytics, Shoppable Recipes, Digital Coupons and patented Close.By short-links.,,

The corporate picture matters to a buyer. Destini is a SPINS solution: SPINS lists Destini Where-to-Buy under commerce enablement, and the destini.co footer names Destini Global LLC with terms hosted on spins.com. Destini acquired Where to Buy in June 2025, and SPINS acquired MikMak in January 2026. No public statement says Destini is being merged, rebranded or discontinued.,,

One detail shows how carefully these pages need reading. The homepage says founded in 2010; a 2021 Destini press release said 2012. We use the current site.,

Where StoreLocators is different

Month to month, cancel any time

We bill monthly, with no long-term contract and no termination fee, and you can cancel from Account Settings whenever you like. Destini’s published standard terms, dated January 2019, bill annually and include no termination for convenience, though a signed order can differ.,

You install it yourself, today

One click from the Shopify App Store, or a script tag on any other site including headless. Destini's documented path is an embed script pasted into your where-to-buy page, generated in its CMS for the LITE locator or supplied by a Destini implementation manager for PRO, which loads the locator in an iframe.,

We publish a setup time

Ours is under 5 minutes, stated on our own site and checkable by installing the app. Destini publishes no setup-time figure for its locator. That is a difference in what each vendor commits to publicly.

New products do not wait on a feed

Their own docs say a new product can take six to eight weeks for distribution data to reach the locator unless pre-registered with Nielsen and IRI. For a brand launching SKUs, that window is the most concrete difference between the two.

Coverage is not gated by what data you buy

Destini tells customers the stores they see are the ones their feeds cover. We discover which of 205 retailers carry your products across 110,516 locations, with no syndicated subscription required.,

The long tail of independents

Independent stockists submit their own locations through the wholesale portal and appear without waiting to be reported by anyone’s feed.

Every row where the table above separates us

Taken from that table rather than written out again, so the two cannot disagree. A row shows up here when we publish an answer and they publish none, or when both answer and ours covers more of the feature. Rows where both sides publish a figure, a price or a rating, stay out: those differ by their content.

Why brands look for a Destini alternative

Destini is built around syndicated retail data. That is the whole design, and when it fits it fits well. The brands that shop for something else are the ones it does not fit: no NielsenIQ, IRI or SPINS subscription, distribution outside grocery CPG, or a footprint concentrated in independents and regional accounts no feed reports cleanly.,

The rest are buying on speed or on terms. Destini sells by quote and demo and publishes no price, and its published standard terms, dated January 2019, bill annually and include no termination for convenience, though a signed order can differ. We publish the tiers, the month-to-month structure and the refund window, on pages a buyer can read before booking a call.,,

Data freshness, and where each platform gets it

The two platforms answer the shopper question from opposite directions. Destini reads store-level POS and sales feeds from NielsenIQ, IRI and SPINS, then bases its search results on actual sales. NielsenIQ describes the same integration from its side. StoreLocators reads retailer-reported availability, refreshed daily and re-checked while the shopper browses.,

On cadence, Destini publishes one number and we will not invent the others. Its Canada page states availability there comes from over 6,200 stores refreshed monthly. No interval is published for United States in-store availability, so this page does not state one.

The documented gap that matters more day to day is new products. Destini troubleshooting documentation states a new product can take six to eight weeks for distribution data to start appearing, and suggests pre-registering with Nielsen and IRI to shorten it. If you launch often, that is the number to weigh.

Retailer coverage compared

Destini publishes three location counts at once. Its homepage says 120,000+ retail locations and 100+ eCommerce and grocery delivery retailers. Its product locators page says over 140,000 locations, 130+ eCommerce retailers, and coverage in the US, Canada and the UK. SPINS says 150,000+. All three were live on 15 October 2026, so this page names the page rather than picking a number.,,

Raw totals are the least useful figure here either way. What decides a locator is whether the retailers you sell through are covered, and the two models bound that differently. Destini documentation tells customers the stores they see are covered by the feeds they subscribe to. On our side 205 retailers across 110,516 locations are discovered automatically, missing ones are added on request within days, independents add themselves through the wholesale portal, and the underlying store lists are public.,

Setup and time to launch

Destini install documentation covers two locators. For LITE, you open the Locator page in the CMS settings, click an embed-code button, choose between starting with product selection or going direct to store results, then paste the embed into your where-to-buy page; the iframe it loads tops out at 850px tall. For PRO, a Destini implementation manager provides the embed script, and the iframe fills the width of its container.

That embed is platform-neutral, which is a real advantage on a bespoke enterprise stack. The cost shows up on hosted platforms: Destini documentation describes Squarespace as requiring its Code Injection section for external JavaScript, and says Shopify and Wix may need similar workarounds. A 2022 Shopify Community thread on the question was answered with custom coding.,

StoreLocators installs from the Shopify App Store and the Live Retail Map drops into a theme as a section, with a script and container div for everything else. We publish under 5 minutes from install to live map. Destini publishes no setup-time figure for its locator, and its five-minutes claim covers Shoppable Landing Pages, so we do not compare the two.,

Switching from Destini

A Destini embed lives on a page of your own site, so the move is mostly a swap of what renders in that slot. The work that matters is confirming the retailers you care about are covered before you cut over, and deciding what to do about the parts of Destini that are not a locator.

  1. Write down what the current locator answersList the retailers, markets and SKUs your Destini setup covers today, and note which come from feeds you subscribe to. That list is your acceptance test, and it is easier to assemble before the contract conversation than after. An afternoon
  2. Run discovery and compare against that listConnect your catalog and let discovery find which integrated retailers carry your products. Compare against your list, not a headline number. Anything missing gets requested, typically added within days at no extra cost.Same day
  3. Bring in the doors no feed reportsIndependent stockists and small regional accounts are the gap syndicated data covers least well. Point them at the wholesale portal so they add their own locations and appear without waiting on anyone else.
  4. Swap the embed, then settle the rest of the suiteOn Shopify, drag the Live Retail Map into the section the iframe occupied. Elsewhere, replace the script in the same container. Your page URL does not change. If you also use Shoppable Landing Pages, Close.By links, Coupons or Signals, decide their fate before giving notice.Under an hour

Frequently asked questions

How much does Destini cost?

Destini does not publish pricing. Every commercial call to action on destini.co is a demo, quote or pricing request, and its demo form bands prospects by store count from under 1,000 through 15,000 and above. Capterra, a third-party directory, lists a starting price of $4,950, but that listing labels the unit inconsistently and rests on zero reviews, so it is a directory figure rather than Destini pricing.,,

Does Destini require an annual contract?

Destini does not publish a contract length. Its published standard terms, dated January 2019 on the page, refer to each order’s term and to renewal terms without stating a length, and they bill annually: half the first year’s fees are invoiced when the order is signed and the rest 45 days after its start date, then annual fees on each anniversary. Fees are non-refundable unless the agreement provides otherwise, and the only termination right those terms give the client is for an uncured material breach: they include no termination for convenience. A signed order governs where it conflicts with them. An earlier version from December 2018, still on its site, also let either side end an order on 30 days’ notice during a renewal term. StoreLocators is month to month with no termination fee, and you can cancel from Account Settings.,,

What is Destini and how does its where-to-buy platform work?

Destini is a where-to-buy and commerce enablement platform for grocery CPG brands, and a SPINS solution. Instead of asking brands to upload store lists, it is fed by syndicated store-level sales data from NielsenIQ, IRI and SPINS combined with web-scraped online product data, and ranks results by actual sales across a brand's distribution footprint. It installs on your site as a JavaScript embed.,,

Does Destini work with Shopify?

Destini installs as a copy-paste JavaScript embed rendered in an iframe, so it can be placed on a Shopify page. Its own documentation says Squarespace needs a code-injection step and that Shopify and Wix may need similar workarounds, and a 2022 Shopify Community thread on the question was answered with custom coding. A Shopify App Store search returned the full store-locator category and no Destini listing, and apps.shopify.com/destini returns a 404, so the embed is the only route.,,

Why are my products not showing up in Destini?

Destini's own troubleshooting documentation gives two common reasons. A new product can take six to eight weeks for distribution data to reach the locator, which the docs say is shortened by pre-registering products with Nielsen and IRI before release. Second, the stores you see are bounded by the data feeds your brand subscribes to, so IRI customers need their products in their IRI Product Locator Feed.

How often does Destini update its store and availability data?

It depends on the market, and Destini publishes a figure for only one of them. Its Canada page states in-store availability there comes from over 6,200 stores refreshed monthly. No refresh interval is published for United States in-store availability, so we do not state one. StoreLocators uses retailer-reported availability refreshed daily and re-checked while a shopper is browsing.

Is Destini owned by SPINS?

Destini is a SPINS solution. SPINS lists Destini Where-to-Buy under its commerce enablement solutions and runs a Destini Commerce Acceleration page, and the destini.co footer names Destini Global LLC with terms of use hosted on spins.com. SPINS also announced its acquisition of MikMak in January 2026. No public statement says Destini is being merged, rebranded or discontinued.,

Does Destini offer a free trial?

Destini makes no public statement either way. There is no self-serve signup on destini.co, and every route into the product runs through a demo or quote request. Capterra's third-party listing records no free trial and no free version, but that is directory metadata rather than a vendor commitment. StoreLocators offers a free trial with access to all retailer integrations and store locations.

What are the best alternatives to Destini?

It depends what you are replacing. If you want where-to-buy alongside retail media, MikMak and Wayvia compete for the same budget. If you want a store locator that installs in minutes and covers retailers your syndicated feeds do not report, that is what StoreLocators is built for. If your distribution story is natural and specialty grocery, the SPINS integration is genuinely hard to replace.

Every Destini claim here was taken from destini.co, the SPINS solutions page, Destini support documentation, a public partner listing, a press release or a directory listing, and each was checked against the page as it stood on 15 October 2026. Destini’s published standard terms were read on 16 October 2026. The sources are listed below with the exact URL we read. One cell is the exception and is labelled as such: the pricing figure. Destini publishes no price anywhere, and the $4,950 on its Capterra listing is directory metadata rather than a vendor statement. The range in the table is neither of those. It is the spread of what five brands that have used Destini paid, shown as a range rather than an average because the spread is nearly twofold and averaging it would hide the thing a buyer most needs to know.,,

Four of the sources below are Destini support-centre articles. Destini puts a browser check in front of that support centre, so they may not open on a first click. Each is marked as such in the list. The wording quoted from them is reproduced exactly, and any claim resting on one comes down if that wording changes.,

Where Destini publishes nothing, this page says so rather than estimating: free trial availability, locator setup time, a United States refresh interval, a retailer coverage list, and support commitments. On contract terms the page quotes the most recent standard terms Destini publishes, from January 2019, which a signed order can override. Pricing is the one place we go further than their published material, and the cell says exactly where that figure came from and how few brands it rests on. Several Destini pages still carry 2021 and 2022 footers with figures that differ from the current homepage, so every figure here names its page. Claims about StoreLocators come from our own public pages, listed the same way.,,,

  7. 8.Destini: standard terms and conditions, January 2019 destini.co. Reviewed 2026-10-16.“Destini will invoice Client upon the execution of the relevant Exhibit for an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the fees for the first year of the Locator Service”The most recent version of Destini’s standard client terms published on destini.co, marked "Last modified: January 28, 2019" (its URL and sitemap entry date it to January 2020) and reached from its sitemap rather than its footer, whose Terms of Use link goes to spins.com. Fees: half of the first year’s fees are invoiced when the order (the Exhibit) is signed and the rest 45 days after its start date; annual fees are invoiced on each anniversary of that start date; "All payments of fees are non-refundable, unless otherwise provided in this Agreement." Termination: the clauses are termination for an uncured material breach, with a pro-rated refund when the client terminates for Destini’s breach, and Destini’s right to suspend for non-payment or end service it cannot deliver. There is no right to terminate without cause. The terms say an Exhibit governs where the two conflict, so a signed order can differ. They use "Term" without defining it, refer to "the then-current term of the Exhibit" and to renewal terms without stating a length, and are incorporated into a Master Services and License Agreement that is not published. This page’s own footer link to Terms & Conditions is commented out in its source, and no destini.co navigation links to it. An earlier version, dated December 18, 2018, is cited separately (`destini-terms-2018`). Read in a browser, as destini.co blocks some automated requests.
