Pear Commerce vs StoreLocators: 2026 Pricing and Comparison
Retail ecommerce and shoppable media platform, with a store locator inside it
Pear Commerce sells itself as a retail ecommerce platform for omnichannel CPG brands, and the store locator is one module inside it. Brands usually start looking for a Pear Commerce alternative for one of two reasons: they want a locator without the media platform wrapped around it, or their catalogue has outgrown a tier that meters them by UPC count. StoreLocators is compared against every major where-to-buy platform on our hub.,
Last reviewed
The short answer
Pear Commerce is a shoppable media and measurement platform that includes a store locator. StoreLocators is a store locator with no UPC caps and month-to-month terms.
What each product is designed to do, in its own terms. A capability named on one side is not a claim that the other lacks it, and neither column ranks the two: the table below is where they are compared row by row.
What Pear Commerce is built for
Paid media is the problem. You are spending meaningfully on Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snap or programmatic, and you need the retail click attributed back to the campaign that produced it.
You are an alcohol brand. Tied-house compliance is regulatory work, Pear unTied does it in the product, and we do not.
Your distribution runs deep into regional and long-tail retailers, and daily store-level verification across 3,000+ of them is the thing you are buying.
A merchandising or category team wants daily digital-shelf data as a Tableau report or a raw feed into your own BI stack.
The platform budget is a rounding error against the media budget it is meant to optimise.
If two or more of these describe your team, you are shopping for a commerce media platform rather than a store locator. We would rather say that here than after another thousand words.
What StoreLocators is built for
You are on Shopify, or can drop a script on any other site, and want it live without an onboarding project.
Your catalogue is wider than 15, 30 or 100 UPCs and you would rather not have SKU count set your price.
A meaningful part of your distribution is independents, co-ops and distributor accounts rather than national banners.
Month-to-month terms matter: no termination fee, cancel from your account settings.
The locator, availability badges and retail analytics are the whole job, not one module of seven.
Pricing, and what each vendor publishes
Pear publishes a real price list, which is unusual in this category: four named tiers with dollar figures and what each one includes. Emerging is $2,000 a month paid yearly or $2,250 paid monthly, with 15 UPCs and a choice of Store Locator or Shoppable Pages. Established is $3,600 or $4,050, with 30 UPCs and both. Full Platform is $4,800 or $5,400, with 100 UPCs and 30 Shoppable Links. Enterprise is quoted. Pear Connect pricing is not published.
Our prices are public too: $195, $395 and $995 a month on our Shopify App Store listing, tiered by retail locations rather than product count, each with a 14-day free trial.
What can be compared is terms. Ours are published in full and take a minute to check: month to month, no termination fee, cancel from your account settings, refund available within 30 days of the latest charge. Neither Pear’s pricing page nor its published terms (September 2022) states a minimum term, a notice period, how a brand may end the agreement, or UPC overage cost; the terms leave the contract length to each order form. The only thing its price list shows about commitment is that paying yearly costs $250 to $600 a month less than paying monthly, which is not the same as a lock-in and is not described as one here.,,

What Pear Commerce is, in their own words
“Turn demand into purchase, not dead ends. Unlock accurate availability and click-level results.”
“Inventory is verified daily at the store-level (not retailer level) across both Big Box and regional retailers, plus marketplace partners like Instacart and DoorDash.”
“Pear’s Store Locator connects to daily inventory at all retailers, so your shoppers only see online or physical locations that have your product in stock right now.”
“When you partner with Pear, you can fully customize your where-to-buy tool’s colors, fonts, and CTA buttons to match your brand’s website and visual identity. No designer or developer needed!”
Read the pricing page rather than the homepage and the shape of the company is unmistakable. Pear sells offsite products, Pear Connect, Landing Pages, Direct-to-Cart and Pear unTied, alongside onsite products, Store Locators, Shoppable PDPs and Shoppable Recipes, with Pear Pulse and Pear Vision underneath for data and reporting. On the entry tier a brand chooses Store Locator or Shoppable Pages, not both. The locator is a module in a media and measurement platform rather than the product itself, and most of what follows comes from that.
Pear was founded in 2018, is headquartered in Minneapolis, and raised a $10M Series A led by Stage 2 Capital announced in June 2024, with co-founders Alex Wyler and Eric Martell quoted in the release. That release reported 5x year-over-year growth and stated that Pear powers shoppable experiences for five of the top 20 CPG companies. That is the only quantified customer figure from a primary source, and it is over two years old as of this review.
Worth knowing before you read any comparison of these platforms, including this one: Pear runs its own competitor pages at /mikmak-alternative, /destini-alternative and /wayvia-alternative, and publishes answer content targeting questions like who has the best store locators. Everyone in this category is writing about everyone else. That is why every Pear fact on this page carries the URL it came from and the date we opened it.,
Where StoreLocators is different
Month-to-month terms you can read before you buy
Month to month, no long-term contract, no termination fees, cancel in Account Settings with access through the end of the billing period, and a refund available within 30 days of the latest charge. Both vendors publish prices. Pear’s published terms (September 2022) leave the contract length to each order form.,,
No metering by SKU
Pear’s published tiers cap UPCs at 15, 30 and 100 before unlimited Enterprise, so a wide catalogue climbs the price list on product count alone. StoreLocators does not meter by product. That is a description of what Pear publishes, not a claim about what we charge.
Independents and distributor accounts are a first-class path
A wholesale customer can find their own business through the self-submission portal and appear on the locator immediately, and store lists load by CSV or through documented distributor imports. For a brand whose distribution runs through natural-channel distributors, that coverage is not a scan away.
Retailer additions on request
New retailers are added on request, typically within days, at no additional cost. Pear publishes no turnaround for adding a retailer and no retailer list, though it says it can add manual pins for retailers without an ecommerce presence.
The locator is the product, not a module
On Pear’s entry tier a brand chooses Store Locator or Shoppable Pages, not both. Here the locator, availability badges, the wholesale portal and retail analytics are the whole product, with no line item competing against them for a tier allowance.
A public data asset you can check before buying
Our store lists publish full retailer store lists with addresses, phone numbers, opening hours and coordinates as free CSV downloads, refreshed daily. Pear publishes no retailer list at all, so its coverage claim cannot be inspected from outside.
Every row where the table above separates us
Taken from that table rather than written out again, so the two cannot disagree. A row shows up here when we publish an answer and they publish none, or when both answer and ours covers more of the feature. Rows where both sides publish a figure, a price or a rating, stay out: those differ by their content.

Data freshness compared
Pear is unusually specific about its cadence, which makes this the easiest section on the page to write honestly. Pear says it refreshes inventory data daily across 165,000+ stores and 3,000+ retail partners, and that inventory is verified at the store level rather than the retailer level across both Big Box and regional retailers, plus marketplace partners like Instacart and DoorDash. That is a clear, checkable claim on their own site.,,
Pear frames that as its wedge against the rest of the category, and adds that it integrates with the most inventory-verified retailers, 60x the industry standard. That multiplier is Pear’s own marketing claim with no published methodology and no named comparison set, so it appears here as their claim and is not restated as fact anywhere on this page.
Ours is retailer feeds, updated daily, re-checked while the shopper browses. Availability is what the retailer reports rather than a live poll of a physical shelf, and that is the honest description of any feed-driven system including theirs. On cadence the two platforms land in the same place. The real difference sits in the next section, which is how many retailers each cadence covers.
Retailer coverage compared
The raw numbers are not close and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Pear states 3,000+ retail partners across 165,000+ stores. StoreLocators integrates 205 retailers across 110,516 locations. On retailer count that is roughly fifteen times our number, and it is Pear’s single strongest advantage in this comparison.,
Two things the headline number does not settle. Pear publishes no retailer list, so there is no public way to see how many of those 3,000+ retailers carry store-level in-stock verification against how many resolve to a link-out, or which named retailers sit in each group. And a large network only helps if it contains your accounts, which for an emerging brand often means a regional grocer, a co-op or an independent rather than a national banner.
Geography is not a dividing line here. Pear says it checks inventory across retailers in the US, Canada, France, the UK, Australia and beyond, and StoreLocators covers the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Independents are a different shape, though. Pear says it can add manual pins for retailers without an ecommerce presence. Here a wholesale customer can submit their own location and appear immediately, and distributor store lists load directly rather than waiting to be discovered by a scan.
Setup and time to launch
Both vendors publish a fast number and they are measuring different things, so this row deserves more than a table cell. Pear offers a free custom Store Locator it calls a test drive, free for 14 days, and says it discovers your products, scans for retailers and inventory, and has a fully branded locator ready to share in just minutes. Any claim that StoreLocators is faster to stand up than Pear would be wrong.
The paid platform is a different motion. Pear’s own copy describes installation as a code snippet with hands-on help from its team, and its published support tiers run from email support on the entry plan to a dedicated account manager from the Established tier upward. Pear publishes no onboarding duration for a paid plan, and its 6x faster onboarding line is a vendor claim with no methodology behind it, so no number for that appears here.,,
StoreLocators is a different buying model rather than a faster version of the same one. Install the app from the Shopify App Store, drag the Live Retail Map section into your theme in the theme editor, and discovery runs against your catalogue. Non-Shopify sites get a documented script and a single div. There is no vendor onboarding project in the middle, which suits a team that owns its own storefront and does not suit a team that wants an account manager running the implementation.
What a Pear Commerce alternative does not replace
This is the section most comparison pages leave out, and it is the one worth reading before you switch anything. Pear sells offsite products and onsite products on one inventory backbone. Pear Connect, Landing Pages, Direct-to-Cart and Pear unTied sit on the offsite side. Store Locators, Shoppable PDPs and Shoppable Recipes sit on the onsite side. Pear Pulse and Pear Vision carry the data and reporting underneath.
A store locator replaces exactly one of those. If Pear is also running your shoppable ad units, your campaign attribution, your tied-house compliance logic or your digital-shelf feed into a BI stack, moving the locator alone leaves four gaps and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. Work out which of those jobs you actually buy from Pear before you price a replacement for any of them.,,
Switching from Pear Commerce
Moving a locator is mostly a data and embed exercise. The widget on your site is the easy part. The work sits in the retailer and SKU mapping behind it, and in whatever else you were buying from the same vendor.
Deal with that second part first, because with Pear it is usually the larger part. If Pear is also running your shoppable ad units, your campaign attribution or your alcohol compliance logic, a store locator does not replace any of those, and this section will not pretend it does.,
1Separate the locator from the media platformList what Pear actually does for you: locator, shoppable PDPs, Pear Connect ad units, attribution reporting, Pear Pulse data, unTied compliance. Anything past the first two needs its own answer before you move anything. An hour, with the invoice open
2Check your catalogue against the UPC tier you are onIf you are on Emerging with 15 UPCs or Established with 30, list the products you would actually want live. Brands often discover the tier has been shaping the catalogue rather than the other way round. An hour
3Install alongside, not insteadPut StoreLocators on a staging theme or a single product page and let retailer discovery run while Pear is still live. You are comparing real coverage on your own catalogue rather than two vendor claims.Under 5 minutes to install
4Compare coverage on the retailers you actually sell throughPear covers far more retailers than we do, so run this honestly. Check your real distribution list against what discovery found, request any missing retailers, which are typically added within days at no additional cost, and bring independents in through the wholesale portal.Days, not weeks
5Move the embeds and keep the URLsSwap the locator on your store page and the availability blocks on your product pages. Leave the URLs exactly as they are so nothing you have already earned in search moves.
6Give notice properlyPear’s published terms, quoted in the pricing section above, leave the contract length to your order form, so read yours for its term and any renewal or notice terms before you cancel anything. Export any historical attribution and digital-shelf reporting you want to keep.Depends on your agreement
Frequently asked questions
What is Pear Commerce and how does it work?
Pear Commerce is a retail ecommerce platform for omnichannel CPG brands, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Minneapolis. It sells offsite products, including Pear Connect shoppable ads, landing pages, direct-to-cart and the Pear unTied alcohol compliance tool, alongside onsite products including Store Locators, Shoppable PDPs and Shoppable Recipes. All of it runs on daily inventory data that Pear says covers 3,000+ retail partners and 165,000+ stores, with retailers in the US, Canada, France, the UK, Australia and beyond.,,,
How much does Pear Commerce cost?
Pear publishes its prices, which is unusual in this category. Its Emerging tier is $2,000 a month paid yearly or $2,250 paid monthly and covers 15 UPCs with a choice of Store Locator or Shoppable Pages. Established is $3,600 or $4,050 with 30 UPCs and both. Full Platform is $4,800 or $5,400 with 100 UPCs. Enterprise is a custom quote, and Pear Connect pricing is not published.
Does Pear Commerce require an annual contract or a minimum commitment?
Pear does not publish a minimum term, so we cannot answer this for them and will not guess. Its published Retail Terms & Conditions (September 2022) say the term is whatever your order form sets, and its pricing page lists no minimum term, notice period, cancellation terms or termination fee. What the price list does show is that paying yearly costs $250 to $600 a month less than paying monthly, which shows an annual option exists but is not evidence of a required lock-in. Ask them directly and get it in writing. StoreLocators is month to month, with no termination fee.,,
What are the best Pear Commerce alternatives?
It depends on which part of Pear you are replacing. If you mainly use the Store Locator, a focused Pear Commerce alternative such as StoreLocators installs from the Shopify App Store and covers 205 retailers across 110,516 locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, with no UPC metering. If you also rely on Pear Connect ad units, click-level attribution or alcohol compliance, no store locator replaces those, and MikMak and Destini are closer comparisons.,
How many retailers and stores does Pear Commerce cover?
Pear states that it refreshes inventory daily across 165,000+ stores and 3,000+ retail partners, verified at the store level rather than the retailer level across Big Box and regional retailers plus marketplaces including Instacart and DoorDash, and that its retailers span the US, Canada, France, the UK, Australia and beyond. Pear publishes no retailer list, so there is no public way to check how many of those retailers carry store-level in-stock verification against a link-out, or which named retailers are in each group.,,
Does Pear Commerce work with Shopify?
There is no Pear Commerce app on the Shopify App Store. Pear describes installation as a code snippet with hands-on help from its team, which works on a Shopify theme as it would anywhere else, so the absence of a listing is about how Pear sells rather than whether it runs there.,
How accurate is Pear Commerce in-stock inventory data?
Pear states that it refreshes inventory daily across 3,000+ retail partners, and that availability is verified at store level rather than retailer level. It also says it integrates with 60x the industry standard of inventory-verified retailers, which is Pear’s own marketing figure with no published methodology, so treat it as a vendor claim. What is verifiable is the stated cadence: daily. No independent audit of Pear’s accuracy is public.,,
How long does it take to set up a Pear Commerce store locator?
Pear offers a custom Store Locator test drive, free for 14 days, and says it discovers your products, scans for retailers and inventory, and has a fully branded locator ready to share in just minutes. That is the test drive, not the paid platform. For a paid plan Pear describes a code snippet install with hands-on support from its team and publishes no onboarding duration, and its 6x faster onboarding claim has no published methodology behind it.,,
Every Pear Commerce claim on this page was taken from pearcommerce.com, a dated press release, or a public software directory listing, and each one was checked against the page as it stood on 15 October 2026. Pear’s published terms were read on 16 October 2026. The sources are listed below with the exact URL we read. Where Pear states a figure, it is quoted in Pear’s own units rather than rounded or restated.,,
Pear’s performance multipliers were handled as a separate category. The 60x scanning claim, the 6x onboarding claim and the AI-search figures are Pear’s own marketing assertions with no published methodology, so they appear attributed to Pear or not at all, and none of them is restated as neutral fact. Competitor marketing claims about other vendors are not used as sources.,
Where Pear publishes nothing, this page says so instead of estimating. That applies to contract length and minimum term, which Pear’s published terms leave to each order form, whether the wider paid platform can be trialled, what happens past the UPC caps, headcount, total funding, current customer count, SLA figures, and how many of its retailers carry store-level verification against a link-out. No star rating is shown for Pear: we could not confirm a G2 rating, and its Capterra profile carries zero reviews.,,
Claims about StoreLocators are held to the same standard and come from our own public pages, linked in the same list so you can check them the same way. Where a claim of ours is checkable against a third party, such as our published prices and plan tiers on the Shopify App Store, the source is listed alongside the rest.
