Import UNFI to StoreLocators

This guide walks you through exporting UNFI Insights sales data to map and display all your existing retail partners on your retail map.

What This Export Does#

This process generates a comprehensive CSV file containing all store locations where your products are sold. This process will:

  • Map all retailer locations to your store locator

  • Verify store addresses and contact information

  • Enrich provided information with canonical store names, address information

  • Ensure accurate geographic placement on your map

  • Configure store details and product availability

Step-by-Step Instructions#

Step 1: Access UNFI Insights#

After logging into myUNFI, locate the "Frequently Used Applications" section. Click on "UNFI insights" to access the supplier data platform.

Step 2: Navigate to Analytics#

In the left sidebar navigation, click on "Analytics" to access the reporting dashboards.

Step 3: Select Year Over Year Sales Report#

Under the "Business Health" section, click on "Year Over Year Sales". This report provides comprehensive store-level sales data.

Step 4: Configure Report Parameters & Export#

Configure the following parameters to ensure all retailer locations are captured:

  • Period Start Date: Select "is in the last 52 weeks" for comprehensive coverage

  • Date Granularity: Set to "Weekly"

  • Only Show Full Periods?: Select "Yes" for complete data

  • Product: Leave as "is any value" for all products

  • Chain: Leave as "is any value" for all retailers

  • Distribution Center: Important: Include both "EAST" and "WEST" for nationwide coverage

  • Distribution Center Region: Leave as "is any value"

  • Group by Product or UPC: Select "Product"

After configuring all parameters, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right corner, then select "Download".

Step 5: Export as CSV#

In the download dialog:

  1. Set Format to "CSV"

  2. Click the "Download" button

Important: CSV format is required to properly process and map your retailer locations. Other formats cannot be imported into our system.

Next Steps After Export#

  1. Save the CSV file with a clear filename (e.g., "YourBrand_UNFI_Retailers_Sept2025.csv")

  2. Upload directly to StoreLocators:

Why This Data Matters#

This UNFI export provides the foundation for your store locator by providing:

  • Complete retailer coverage: Every store where your products are distributed

  • Accurate location data: Store addresses, contact information, and regional details

  • Distribution insights: Which products are available at which locations

  • Geographic mapping: Ensures customers find the nearest stores carrying your products

Important Requirements#

  • CSV format only: Excel, PDF, or other formats are unsupported

  • All locations included: Include both EAST and WEST distribution centers

  • Current data: Use the last 52 weeks for up-to-date store information

  • Complete parameters: Leave chain and product filters as "is any value" for complete coverage

  • Upload directly: Use the Uploads tab in your StoreLocators app for immediate processing

Troubleshooting#

If the export fails or seems incomplete:

  • Verify you included both EAST and WEST distribution centers

  • Check your internet connection during the export process

  • Ensure you have permissions to access all retailer data

  • Try shorter date ranges if the file is too large

If upload to StoreLocators fails:

  • Check file size limits in the Uploads tab

  • Verify the CSV format is correct (comma delimited)

  • Ensure your Shopify app permissions are up to date
